Passionate young Jesus played a very important role (John 5:17). He defeated Satan on the cross and resurrected to defeat death (1 Cor. 15:4; Hosea 6:1-2). What He achieved at cross depicts Son’s trust on the Father that held Him to the purpose of His life on earth. Though it wasn’t easy for Him (Luke 22:42), He still continued to believe that the Father is in control of His life. The only qualification obligatory is fearless faith. Someone rightly said that, “God does not call the qualified but qualifies the called” (1 Cor.1:27).
Love fuels the desire to serve God and faith in obedience fearlessly follows Jesus. Faith is the strong confidence in God that He will never leave us alone in the wildest storms of life(Dan 3:16-18). “It was their faith that made our ancestors please God” Hebrews 11:1(CEV) “Obedience is the personification of Faith.” “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” Heb 11:1. Certainly, the writer of Hebrews amplifies on the magnitude of Faith and manages to summarize the whole chapter in a single verse, “Without faith it is impossible to please God” Hebrews 11:6. The stories of young heroes, sound extraordinary only because the color of faith which is painted on the board of action (James 2:16-18, 20, 26; 1 Thess. 1:3). We cannot deny the fact that all young heroes of faith had weaknesses. But still they choose to surrender their will and submit their weakness at the feet of God.
It is an absolute honor to be working along with God, “Man cannot do anything without God and God will not do anything without Man (Human).” Throughout Bible we can see teamwork between God and the young heroes of faith. History teaches that anointing is always followed by witnessing. There is no unction that keeps us out of action for a longer time, words must be converted into works. History also witness of many youths who made an ordinary move by faith and it is God who made the move a movement to motivate millions. They lived and they are gone and now it’s our chance to live life worthy of His love and sacrifice.
Can I do it? Can I sustain? Can I overcome? Am I called and qualified? Am I talented enough? I don’t know the Bible cover to cover? Let’s not doubt that, every time Satan puts such doubts, don’t scratch your head; just as “Caleb calmed down the crowd” let us also say that, “I know I can do it!” Numbers 13:30. It was doubt that drowned Peter (Mt.14:29,31). Even young Eve was trapped in one such question (Gen 2:18, Gen 3:1) that created a vacuum for doubt and she had disbelieved on God for whom it is impossible to lie (Heb 6:8). Doubt drifted this young couple away from the purpose of life and presence of God (Gen 3:8). Often backsliding starts with doubt which leads to disobedience. Faith cannot co-exist with doubt, doubt breeds underneath our lukewarm Christian lifestyle. When He saves us, His promise is to sustain us and He will prosper us whatsoever conditions we are in (1 Thess. 5:24). The reason why bold buddies (Youth) with brave heart bolted up the mouth of the king with a powerful declaration was their faith on God, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, o king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, o king that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up” Dan 3:16-18, is because they were full of zeal to serve God at any cost. Their faith generated passion that resulted in extraordinary achievements. Heidi Baker says, “If ministry is not about compassion and passion, let it die.” Wow! Wherefrom did the confidence come in young Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego, it is the zeal to serve God.
Friends the challenge we have is the gap between the desire to serve God and actually serving the Lord. Whenever we hear the call for ministry, we have our personal insecurities and fears standing tall challenging our commitment. Billy Graham (Evangelist) once said, “My home is in heaven. I am just travelling through this world.” He was greatly used by God because he chose to express his love for God in action and not in acting. Book of ACTS full of Active Christians Terrifying Satan. Tragedy is God took no time to decide to pay the highest price to express His love and we lack no excuses in saying that I need time to think, I am not ready, I am not sure if God wants me to serve Him. Nothing else go through so much of analysis and calculation as much as a decision of serving God. Yes, one thing that we are on top, that is singing aloud for Him saying, “He is my everything.”
Even after enjoying God’s goodness and grace we still need Him to speak out to us individually that He needs us (Mt 9:37; Luke 10:2; Is 58:6-7; Mk 16:15; 1 Cor.7:17; Phil 2:1-4, 3:12-14; Heb 3:1, 12:1-2; 1 Pet. 2:9-10, 3:15-16, 4:10-11). Many youth who chose to serve God, lacked money, they too had parent to be taken care of, some were in a comfortable place, some had high reputation in the society, some had high profile job, they too had their beloveds and friends just as we do but when God wanted them they just left everything and followed Him without compromising. Those who counted it a great privilege to serve God are today known for what they achieved for God through faith in Christ. While we take care of what is concerning to God, He assures us to take care of everything that concerns us. Friends, “The will of God will not take us where the grace of God cannot sustain us,” Evg. Billy Graham. The good news is there is a vacancy and we can apply right now. God is calling “Passionate Youth to continue the Passion of Christ among the perishing souls.” This is why all power and authority is given unto us (Mt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).
The truth shall never change that “Just shall live by Faith” Romans 1:5, 17, and shall lack nothing. Are you ready to take this leap of faith and join Jesus in the journey of your life? He who began something in and through us will bring to completion (1 Thess. 5:24). David Livingstone once said, “If a commission by an earthly king is considered honor, how can a commission by a Heavenly King be considered a sacrifice?” Let’s ask ourselves, “Am I saved to SERVE or just to SURVIVE!”
